This is the College Of Veterinary And Animal Sciences out here in Udgir. We are situated on Kaulkhed Road. If you are traveling through the Latur district, you might have seen our place. It is a bit of a trek to get here sometimes, but we are used to it. The area is quite open and there is plenty of space for the animals. That is the main thing for us. We deal with all sorts of animals every day. It is not a clean, polished office job. It’s dusty and noisy. Udgir is a quiet town but the college keeps things busy. We have a lot of students coming from different parts of Maharashtra. The road outside can get a bit bumpy. You’ll see people bringing their livestock by every now and then. It is a practical place. We don’t have much in the way of decoration. The focus is on the work we do with the animals. It gets really hot in the summer months here. We just keep our heads down and get on with the day. Being on Kaulkhed Road means we are a bit away from the main town center. It gives us the room we need. Most of the people working here have been around for years. We know the local farmers and the families in Udgir. It’s a tight-knit kind of place.
