Sitaram Ganpatlal

Our shop is right in the middle of Main Bazar here in Gandhidham. It’s D-59, if you’re looking for the exact number. Being in Kachchh means it gets quite hot, so we usually have the fans going full blast all day. It’s a busy spot with people constantly walking by outside. Inside, it’s mostly just shelves filled with whatever we’re stocking at the time. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the people who pass by every morning. Sitaram Ganpatlal isn’t a huge company with hundreds of employees, it’s just us doing the daily tasks. We open up early, sweep the front, and start checking what needs to be moved or sold. There’s always a bit of dust because of the road, and sometimes the traffic noise makes it hard to hear, but you get used to it. We don't use any fancy systems, just notebooks and a basic counter. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized when a big delivery arrives, and we have to stack boxes wherever they fit. It feels like a real part of the community here. If the power goes out, we just sit outside on the stools for a bit. It’s not perfect, and the walls could probably use some new paint, but it works for us. We just focus on getting through the day’s list and making sure the shop stays open for whoever needs us for their daily supplies.
