Jamadar Engineering Works

You can find us located near Sarpat Gate, right across from the Allah Wala Kabrastan. It is a landmark that everyone in this area knows well, so we do not usually have to give people directions more than once. Jamadar Engineering Works is a bit of an old-school shop. We do not have the newest computers or a shiny reception desk for visitors. What we do have is a lot of heavy machinery and floors that have seen years of grease and metal work. It is actually a bit quieter on this side of town compared to the main markets, which is nice for us. We do a lot of custom engineering stuff. People bring in broken parts or sketches of what they need, and we try our best to make it work. The shop can get pretty dark, so we have these big industrial lights hanging from the ceiling to help us see. We usually have a radio playing in the background, though you can barely hear it over the sound of the lathes and grinders. Most of the guys here have been working with their hands their whole lives. We do not use much fancy language to describe what we do here. If something needs fixing or making, we just get to it. It involves a lot of measuring, cutting, and welding. When the day is finally over, we wash up and head home.
