Down in Thunbhan Village, near Mota Kandagara in Kutch, is where you’ll find our site. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but there is plenty of space which we need for the power system work we do. Doosan Power System India Pvt. Ltd. has a large footprint here, but on the ground, it’s just a lot of us working in the heat and the wind. Kutch can be a tough place to work because of the weather, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We focus on the big equipment used in power plants. It’s heavy, complicated stuff that requires a lot of safety gear and careful handling. We don't have any polished speeches about what we do. It’s mostly about making sure the turbines and boilers are handled right so nothing goes wrong later. The local people from the nearby villages make up a good part of the workforce here. We eat our lunch together and talk about the weather or the commute. It's a long way from the big cities, but the work we do here eventually helps keep the lights on somewhere else. The site is mostly gravel and steel, and we spend most of our time outdoors or in the large sheds. It’s honest work that takes a lot of physical effort and focus every single day.
