Being out on Kaithal Road means we have a bit more space than the shops in the middle of town. Haryana Milk Foods Ltd. is situated where the trucks can get in and out easily. Dealing with milk means we have to start our day very early. Most of the time, the sun isn't even up when the first people arrive at the gate. It is a lot of cold metal and heavy lifting. We do not have time for fancy decorations or marketing slogans. We just focus on the milk and making sure it is handled right. The smell of the dairy is something you get used to after a day or two. It is just part of the job. Some days are harder than others, especially when a machine acts up or a delivery is late, but we manage. We aren't trying to be the biggest or the most famous company out there. We just want to do our work and go home to our families at the end of the shift. The office is small and usually smells like coffee. We keep our records on paper mostly, though there is a computer tucked in the corner. It is a practical place. We are just local people working with local products. There is no need to make it sound more complicated than it really is. We just keep the wheels turning here on Kaithal Road every single day of the week.
