You can find us at Shop No. 9, just go up the stairs. It’s a small place, but it’s enough for what we do at Professional Computers & Laptop Chip Level Services. Most of the time, the workbench is covered in tiny screws and parts from laptops that are opened up. It can look like a mess to someone walking in, but I know exactly where every tool is. I spend hours looking through a magnifying glass at circuit boards. Chip level work is slow and takes a lot of patience. My eyes get tired by the end of the day. People bring in their computers when they won't turn on or if something spilled on them. Sometimes I can fix them, sometimes they are too far gone, but I always take a look. I’ve been doing this for a long time, starting back when computers were much bigger. Now everything is so small and fragile. It’s just me and one assistant usually. We don’t have a fancy waiting area with a TV or anything. Just a couple of stools and the counter. The shop is tucked away upstairs so it’s a bit quieter than the street level, which helps when you need to concentrate on soldering something very small. It’s honest work. I like the challenge of finding a tiny fault on a board that someone else said couldn't be fixed. It keeps the mind sharp and the hands busy. We stay here until the last job is done.
