Shree Ganpati Marbles

Up here in Village Kalheli, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. Shree Ganpati Marbles is situated at Post Bijora, right in the Taluka Bhumtar area of Kullu. If you are heading toward the Shiv Mandir, we are very close to that. The air is good here, but the work is still tough. We handle a lot of heavy stone slabs every single day. Most of our customers are locals who are building houses in the hills or contractors working on projects around Kullu. Being near the temple means we see a lot of people passing through. We started this place because we wanted to work for ourselves and stay close to home. The yard is usually full of different types of marble and granite. It gets quite cold in the winter, which makes moving the stone a bit more difficult, but we stay busy. We don't have any fancy brochures or a big sales pitch. Usually, people just come in, look at what we have in stock, and we talk about the price. It’s a straightforward way of doing business. My brother and I usually handle the unloading when the trucks arrive from down south. It’s a lot of physical labor, but it keeps us going. We’ve been at this spot for several years now and have become a regular part of the village life in Kalheli.
