Jagriti College

We have been here in Mandi for a while now. The college is located out in Talyahar, near the Deodhar post office in Tehsil Sadar. It is a quiet spot, away from the main town noise, which is nice for the students who come here every morning. Most of the people working here are from around this area in Himachal. We don't have fancy office buildings, just the classrooms and the basic stuff you need to learn. The weather gets quite cold in the winters, so we usually have to keep the windows shut. Students sit together during lunch breaks and talk about their exams or just what’s going on at home. It’s a simple place. You walk in through the main gate and you see the notice board where we pin up all the dates for the semester. Sometimes the bus is late because of the roads, but everyone is used to that by now. We try to keep the place clean, though with so many kids running around, it gets a bit dusty. The teachers are usually in the staff room grading papers or drinking tea between their lectures. It isn't a huge campus where you get lost. You pretty much know everyone's face after a week or two. If you are looking for us, we are just past the post office. It's easy to find if you ask anyone in the village.
