You’ll find us over at Plot No. 24 in the Rajeshwari Layout, which is part of the Sipcot area in Hosur. Being in an industrial zone means there is always a lot of noise and big trucks moving around. Our workshop is just one of many, but we have our own way of doing things. We mostly work on parts for bigger companies nearby. The floor is usually oily, and there is a constant sound of lathes and milling machines. It’s the kind of place where you have to shout a bit to be heard over the equipment. We do not have a fancy lobby or a bunch of people in ties. Usually, we’re all in our work clothes, probably with some grease on our faces. The weather in Krishnagiri can get pretty warm, and the metal roof of the shed does not help much, but we have some big fans to keep the air moving. We spend a lot of time checking measurements with calipers and making sure everything is within the limits. If we mess up a piece of steel, it’s a waste of time and money, so we try to pay attention. It’s repetitive work sometimes, making the same part over and over, but it is what keeps the shop running. We take our breaks together and talk about whatever is going on in town. It’s just a regular engineering job.
