Kennedy Polytechnic College

Kennedy Polytechnic College is located in Ambur Taluk, over in the Vellore district. We’ve been here for quite some time, focusing on technical education for the young men and women in this part of Tamil Nadu. The campus is a bit older, with sturdy buildings and plenty of workshops. It’s a practical place because that’s what polytechnic training is all about. We have machines and tools that the students use to learn their trades. It’s not a quiet library type of atmosphere; there’s usually some noise from the labs or the mechanical sections. The students come here to get skills they can actually use to find a job in a factory or a workshop. We aren't big on fancy decorations or expensive lobbies. Most of the money goes into keeping the equipment running and making sure there’s enough material for the practical exams. The staff here are mostly experienced hands who have worked in the industry before teaching. They don’t talk in corporate jargon; they just show the students how to fix things and build things. Vellore is a busy place, and we are just one part of the local landscape. We have a canteen where everyone gathers for tea and snacks between classes. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, so the stone corridors are a good place to stay cool. We just keep our heads down and focus on getting the students through their courses so they can start their careers.
