Imran Driving School

Imran Driving School is at 73, Flower Bazar in Ambur. If you know the Flower Bazar, you know it is always crowded with people buying things and bikes weaving in and out. That is actually where we start most of our lessons because if you can drive in Ambur, you can drive anywhere. We have a couple of older cars that have seen a lot of use. The clutches are a bit worn and the seats have some patches, but they run fine for teaching. I spend most of my day sitting in the passenger seat, reaching for the extra brake pedal whenever a student gets too close to a cart or a cow. It is nervous work sometimes. People come to us because they want to get their license for work or just to get around. We go over the signs and the rules, but mostly we just practice turning and parking. The office is just a small room with a desk and some forms. It gets hot in the car during the middle of the day, so we try to schedule the long drives for the morning. I’ve taught a lot of people in this town how to handle a steering wheel. Some learn fast and others take a lot of time, but we just keep going until they get it. It’s just me and the cars most days, waiting for the next student to show up.
