Kartikeya Dall Mill

Our mill is located at 8-81/4/1, right on the NH 9 Road in Paritala. Being on the highway means we see a lot of traffic and dust, but it makes it easier for the trucks to reach us. Kartikeya Dall Mill is a straightforward operation where we process pulses. It is mostly me and a few others working the machines. The noise can be quite a bit when everything is running at once, so we’ve all gotten used to shouting over the grinders. We don't have a polished office or anything like that. It’s just the mill floor and a small corner for our ledgers. We spend the day checking the quality of the grains and making sure the split is right. It’s repetitive work, but there is a certain rhythm to it that I like. Sometimes the power cuts out and everything goes quiet, which is always a bit of a shock. We just sit outside by the road until it comes back on. We don't have any promotional slogans or big advertisements. People usually just see our sign on the NH 9 Road and stop in. We’ve been in Paritala for quite some time now. The heat in the summer can be tough, but we just keep the fans going and keep working. It’s an honest way to make a living. We aren't trying to be anything we’re not. We just run our mill and try to keep things moving as best as we can.
