You can find our group over at Chitta Basu Bazardeganga. We operate out of Pran Krishna Dutta’s place. Deganga Green Veg Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited is a long name for what we do, which is basically working with local farmers. We aren't a big corporate entity from the city. We’re right here in the market area, where all the action happens. Being a farmer producer company means we spend a lot of time talking to people who grow things. There’s a lot of mud on our boots most days. It’s hard work, and the market can be a chaotic place in the mornings. We try to help organize things so the farmers get a fair shake. It’s not always organized, and sometimes meetings get pushed back because of the harvest or the weather. We don’t have fancy desks or air conditioning in every room. It’s more of a practical space where we can meet and talk business. Everyone around here knows Pran Krishna, so finding us isn’t too hard. We just want to keep things moving and make sure the vegetables get where they need to go. It’s a simple goal but it takes a lot of effort from everyone involved. We’re just a bunch of people trying to make the agro business work for our community here in Deganga. It gets hot and dusty, but we wouldn't want to be anywhere else really. It’s home and it keeps us all going.
