You can find UTC-Twenty18 Spices over at South Beach in Kozhikode. We are located at 12/33, right near the famous Gujarathi Street. It’s an old part of the city with a lot of history. Often, the smell of the salt from the sea mixes with the strong scents of our spices. The building is older, and the air inside is always filled with the smell of turmeric and black pepper. It’s enough to make your eyes water if you stay too long. Having a polished corporate office with glass partitions isn't our style. Our space is very much a working warehouse. We spend our days sourcing different spices from around the region and getting them cleaned and bagged. It’s a lot of physical work, and our clothes usually end up covered in spice dust by the afternoon. The street outside is usually noisy with people and traffic heading toward the beach. We’ve seen many businesses come and go in this area, but our work stays mostly the same. Using a big sales pitch for anyone isn't something we do. People who know their spices know where to find us. Sometimes the tourists wandering around Gujarathi Street peek in out of curiosity, but we’re usually too busy with the weighing scales to pay much attention. It’s a simple, traditional way of doing business in a very old part of town. We just keep our heads down and handle the daily orders as they come in.
