SHEENA JAYAN AND SONS CONTRACTING LLP is a family-run thing near the MSS Public School. We’re at 9/1072, Naduvillattu Parambanear in the Vengeri area. It's been that way for a good while. My sons and I handle the day-to-day operations ourselves. We do contracting work, mostly local stuff that comes our way through word of mouth. It isn't a corporate setup with a receptionist or anything like that. If the phone rings, one of us picks it up. If there’s a problem at a site, we go down there and fix it ourselves. Vengeri is a nice place to work out of, even if the rain makes the roads a bit messy sometimes. We keep our equipment and materials ready to go. The school nearby means it gets a bit loud in the afternoons, but we don't mind the noise. We’ve lived here our whole lives, so we know most of the people who come by. We aren't looking to expand into some giant firm. Keeping it small means we can see what's happening with every job. It’s hard work, and the sun can be brutal, but we’re used to it. We just take it one day at a time. The office is really just a place to store paperwork and meet up before heading out. That’s about all there is to it. We just keep our heads down and keep working until the sun goes down.
