S L Graphics

We are up on the second floor of the Fathima Complex. It’s on V.M. Basheer Road. If you come up the stairs, you’ll hear the printers going before you see the door. S L Graphics is a small operation. We do a lot of design work and printing for the people around here. The office is often full of the smell of ink and paper. We have a few computers and some big machines that take up most of the space. It’s not the most organized place in the world, but we know where everything is. People come in with all sorts of requests, from wedding cards to business flyers. V.M. Basheer Road is a busy street, so there is always noise coming up from the ground floor. We’ve been here for a few years now. It’s just a couple of us working through the files. We don't have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just try to make sure the colors look right and the text isn't blurry. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we have to spend the afternoon fixing it ourselves. It’s part of the job. We like the creative side of it, even if it gets a bit hectic when someone needs a job done by tomorrow morning. We just keep at it and do what needs to be done.
