Real Swad

Real Swad is a small business located at number 45 in Ramanatthukara. We are essentially a local food production unit. We don't have a giant factory or anything like that. It’s a modest space where we prepare various items that people like to use in their cooking. The building is simple, and we have a small kitchen area and a place for packing. You can always smell spices and roasted grains when you walk in. We’ve been here in Ramanatthukara for quite a while now. Most of the people who work here live just a short walk away. We aren't interested in becoming some huge corporate entity. We just want to make products that taste like home. We spend a lot of time sourcing ingredients from local suppliers. Sometimes the supply isn't consistent, which can be a bit of a problem. We don't have any professional photos or marketing brochures. We just put our items in plain bags with our name on them. It is a very traditional way of doing things. The workspace is often crowded with bins and scales. We stay busy throughout the year, especially when there are local festivals or holidays. It’s a lot of repetitive work, like sealing bags and checking labels, but we find it satisfying. We just do our bit and hope people like what we make. It feels good to see our bags in the local shops.
