Pattassery Spices

You can find Pattassery Spices right at No:1 on the Calicut Road in Gudathur Bazaar. Being at the very start of the road means we see all the traffic coming in and out of the market area all day long. It is a very busy spot, especially in the early mornings when the bazaar is just waking up. The air around our place is always thick with the scent of different spices, which is something we have grown very used to over the years. The building is a simple one, right on the corner, and it has seen a lot of activity in its time. We spend our hours weighing out the spices, sealing up bags, and talking to the local traders who stop by to see what we have. It is not a quiet job, as the Calicut Road is always full of horns honking and people shouting across the bazaar. We do not have a big corporate team; it is just us doing the work by hand mostly. The floor is usually covered in a bit of spice dust, no matter how much we try to sweep it up. We open the shutters early to get some fresh air in before the real heat of the day starts. It is a very traditional way of doing things here at Gudathur Bazaar. We do not use any high-tech systems, just old-fashioned scales and a lot of hard work.
