North Malabar Spices Company

We are tucked away in the Prajnha Books Building at 299/13 in Kiliyangattu. Being here in Wayanad means we are surrounded by a lot of greenery, which is nice when you need a break. North Malabar Spices Company isn't a very large outfit. We mostly just focus on the day-to-day work of handling what comes through our doors. The building itself is shared with others, so there is always someone coming or going. It smells like spices most of the time, which I guess is expected. We have been here long enough that the locals know our faces. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Usually, someone tells a friend and that’s how they find us. The work can be a bit repetitive, weighing things out and getting bags ready, but we have a good rhythm going now. Sometimes the monsoon rains make it hard to get around, but we still show up. Our desks are usually cluttered with notes and samples. It’s not the most organized looking place, but we know where everything is. We just try to be fair and do a decent job every day. It’s a quiet life here in the hills and we wouldn’t have it any other way. We just keep doing what we do. It’s enough for us and keeps the lights on.
