If you ever find yourself in Kalpetta, you might come across Neha Spices over at Nayana Tower. We occupy a space there that usually smells pretty strongly of whatever we’ve been processing that day. It’s not a huge office, just a functional area where we manage the spice trade. Kalpetta is a beautiful part of the world, and being in Nayana Tower gives us a good central point to work from. We spend a lot of time talking to farmers and suppliers, trying to keep track of what’s in season and what’s coming in next. The business isn't always predictable; some days are quiet and others are a total rush. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls. Instead, you’ll mostly see samples of different peppercorns, turmeric, or cardamom sitting around in jars. It’s a bit messy at times, but that’s just how it goes when you’re dealing with natural products. We’re not a big corporation with hundreds of employees. It’s just a handful of us who know a thing or two about spices. We like the location because it’s easy for people to find us, and there are plenty of places nearby to grab a quick meal. The building itself is quite busy, so there’s always someone coming or going. We don't put much stock in polished speeches or looking perfect. We just focus on the smells and the textures of the spices we handle every single day.
