Mannil Spices

Mannil Spices is tucked away near the Avala Post Office in Perambra. It’s a quiet enough area most of the time, which suits us just fine. We spend our days surrounded by the smell of different spices, which is a nice way to spend a work day. We aren't a massive factory with thousands of workers. It’s a smaller operation where we can actually see what’s going into every bag. We spend a lot of time cleaning, drying, and grinding things up. It’s messy work sometimes, and you definitely go home smelling like the shop, but it's what we do. Our neighbors know us because of the post office nearby. They stop in sometimes just to say hello. We don't have a big corporate office or a floor full of managers. It's just a few of us making sure the quality is okay and the labels are on straight. We get our supplies from local sources when we can. The weather in Perambra affects how we work, especially when it’s too humid for drying the spices properly. We’ve learned to be patient with the seasons. Most of our tools are old but they still work well for what we need. We don't try to overcomplicate things. We just want to get the spices ready and out the door so people can use them. It’s honest work and keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
