We’ve been based here at Grand House in Feroke for quite some time now. It’s a busy spot near the Chandakkadave Post office, and most days you’ll find the yard full of heavy metal and guys in greasy overalls. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we usually have the big fans running while we look over the crane parts. People know us for just being here and doing the work. We aren’t much for fancy talk or big presentations. If a machine needs looking at, we go out and look at it ourselves. The office inside is small and usually has stacks of papers and old logbooks piled on the desks. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the traffic outside. We just keep things moving along day by day. The guys who work here have been around for years and they know the equipment like the back of their hands. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We mostly deal with local folks who need stuff moved or lifted, and they know where to find us. We don't have a big sign out front, just the name on the gate. It's a practical place for practical people. Most of the time we are just worried about keeping the equipment maintained and making sure everything is ready for the next day. That's about it for us here in Feroke.
