Fathima Travels

Fathima Travels is located right at the bus stand in Omassery. It’s a very loud and busy spot to be in every day. You have the sound of bus engines and people shouting all the time. Our office is just a small room where we handle travel bookings and tickets. There’s a lot of dust that comes in from the road, so we are always wiping down the counter. We have a few plastic chairs for people to sit on while they wait for their paperwork to be finished. It’s not a place for a long chat; people are usually in a rush to catch their next bus. We’ve been at the Omassery bus stand for a long time, and we know almost all the regular drivers and conductors who pass through. The walls have a few old calendars and some handwritten notes about bus timings. We don’t do any big marketing. Our business comes from the people who are standing right outside the door. It’s a very practical kind of job. We deal with a lot of different people every day, from students to old folks traveling to see family. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to do things by hand, but we manage. It’s a bit of a chaotic environment, but that’s just how it is at a bus stand. We stay open until the last main buses have gone for the night.
