If you find yourself on Jafferkhan Colony Road in Kozhikode, you’ll probably see our sign on Pattel Tower. We are right there in Cherooty Nagar, which is a pretty busy part of Arayidathupalam. This place started because a few of us realized that kids in the neighborhood really needed some extra help with their CBSE subjects after school hours. It’s not a big corporate center, just a few rooms where we sit down with students and go over their textbooks. We spend a lot of time looking at math problems and science notes. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone arrives at once. The traffic outside can be a bit much, especially during the monsoon, but the students still show up anyway. We don't really have a secretary or anything, so usually, one of us is answering the phone while trying to explain a concept. We use the whiteboards until they’re stained gray and we go through a lot of markers every week. It’s hard work for the kids after a long day at school, so we try to keep the atmosphere somewhat relaxed. We have some old benches and desks that have seen better days, but they do the job. Parents often wait downstairs in their cars or chat by the entrance while they wait for class to finish. It’s just a straightforward place for learning without any extra fluff. We’ve been in this building for some time now and most of the local shops around here know us well.
