We operate Attappadi Dairy Farm Private Limited from this location, which is also known as Shajisha Home in the Malaparamba area. It is a bit of a residential spot, so it feels very much like a local neighborhood business. We got started because we wanted to do something with dairy that felt more direct. It is not a massive corporate farm with thousands of cows; it’s more grounded than that. We spend our mornings and evenings dealing with the animals and making sure the milk is handled correctly. It’s a lot of physical labor, cleaning stalls and hauling feed, but it keeps us busy. Sometimes we have people from around the neighborhood stop by to ask questions or just see how things are going. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy website. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here in Kozhikode for a while and people know where to find us. Managing a dairy farm means you don't really get days off because the cows don't care if it's a holiday. We’ve learned to work around that schedule. It is a simple life, focused on the basics of farming and getting products to the local market. There’s always something to fix, like a leaky pipe or a broken fence, but we enjoy the work. We just keep moving forward one day at a time. It’s more than a job to us.
