Our place is at No. 38 Mill Street. If you know this area, you know Mill Street is usually humming with some kind of activity throughout the week. There are other businesses around us, so there is a constant sound of machinery or vehicles passing by the front gate. We have been here at number 38 for a good stretch of time. Inside, it is mostly storage and a small area where we handle the paperwork. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. People just walk in through the main door and we talk right there on the floor. We spend most of our hours coordinating where things are going. It involves a lot of phone calls and checking the crates before they leave. Some days are slow, while others feel like we can't catch our breath with all the loading. We kept the walls plain and the floor is just concrete, which is easier to clean after moving heavy goods. The guys who work here live nearby, so we all know the local shortcuts and the best places to grab a quick tea during the afternoon slump. It is a straightforward operation. We get the items in, we check them over, and we send them out to wherever they are supposed to go. There isn't much more to it than that. It is just steady work on a busy street where everyone is trying to do their own thing.
