Our little spot is in Punnathura, right on the Ettumanur Pala Road. A lot of people find us simply by looking for Saravanan Bakery because we are located directly above it. It’s actually a bit of a challenge sometimes because the smell of fresh bread and snacks from downstairs makes us hungry all day long. The office looks out over the road where cars and buses are constantly moving between Ettumanur and Pala. It is a simple place, filled with bits of wood, stone samples, and sketches pinned to the walls. We don't have a big team or a polished corporate image; it’s just us working through designs and trying to figure out how to make things look right. The floors usually have some sawdust or stone dust on them despite our best efforts to keep it clean, but that’s just part of the job. Most of our day is spent at the drafting table or talking to people about their homes. It can get a bit loud with the traffic outside, but you get used to it after a week or two. We like being in this part of Kottayam because it feels connected to the local community. It’s a very grounded way to work, without any of the high-end studio vibes you might find in a bigger city. We just stay here, drink our tea, and keep working on the next set of plans.
