Kadalikkattil

Being over here in Kizhathadiyoor P.O., life moves at a bit of a slower pace than the big cities. The name Kadalikkattil is something that has been around this area for a long time. We aren't tucked away in some modern office block; it’s more of a traditional setting where everyone knows everyone else’s business. Most of what we do involves the local land and the people living nearby. If you ask anyone near the post office where we are, they’ll point you right to us. We don't really have a big staff, just a few of us who have been working together for years. The air here is cleaner than in town, but the humidity can be a bit much during the monsoon season. We spend our days dealing with whatever comes our way, whether it's managing the property or talking to folks from the village. There’s usually a pot of coffee going in the back room. The office is full of old wooden furniture and some stacks of ledgers that go back years. We don't use much fancy technology because the old ways still seem to work fine for us. It’s a quiet life, mostly. We like it this way because we can actually see the trees and hear the birds while we work. It’s not about being the biggest, it’s just about keeping the family name going in Kizhathadiyoor every single day. We are just regular people doing what we have always done here.
