Ihm Hospital

Out here in Bharananganam, life moves a bit differently. Our place is near the post office. It is quiet most of the time except when the local buses go by. People know where we are. We do not really need a big sign. The building is simple. We deal with whatever comes through the door. It is a local hospital for the folks around here. We have a few rooms and the staff knows everyone’s name. Sometimes the rain gets really heavy in this part of Kerala and everything slows down. We just keep the lights on and wait. It is not a corporate chain. It is just Ihm Hospital. We spend our mornings checking the supplies and making sure the floors are clean. The breeze from the trees around the post office area is nice. We do not have a big marketing team or anything. Just us working the shifts. If you live in Bharananganam, you have probably walked past us a hundred times. We like it that way. It is home. We do not try to be something we are not. It is just a place for people to get checked when they are not feeling well. The days go by fast. We see kids, old people, and everyone in between. It is a community thing. The pharmacy is small but has what people need. We usually close up and head home once the last person is seen.
