Blk Memorial Hospital

Our place is called Blk Memorial Hospital, and it’s actually located at the Puliyarthottathil house in Kanjirappally. Being in the Kottayam district of Kerala, things move a bit differently here than in the cities. It’s not like those giant hospitals in the big towns with glass walls and uniforms. We are in a more local setting. People walk in with all sorts of small problems or when they aren't feeling right. We have to keep things running even when it’s raining hard outside, which is quite often here in Kerala. The hallways are a bit narrow and we know most of the families around this area. It feels more like a community spot than a cold institution. We deal with the usual stuff like fevers or cuts from the fields. The staff lives nearby, so we see our patients at the market too. It’s just a practical way to run things. Sometimes the waiting area gets full and people have to stand outside under the porch to keep dry. We try to keep the medicines stocked up and the rooms clean. It’s a lot of work keeping the records straight and making sure the doctors are here on time. We do what we can for the people in Kanjirappally. It’s just a regular local hospital trying to help out where it's needed most. We don't have a big PR team, just the nurses and the help doing their bit every day.
