Caritas Hospital

Working at Caritas Hospital here in Thellakom is mostly about keeping up with the schedule. The building has been a part of this landscape for quite some time now, and everyone around here knows where it is. You see people waiting around the entrance at all hours, some looking tired and others just passing the time on their phones. We have a lot of windows, but the view is mostly just the trees and the other wings of the hospital. Inside, the air conditioning is usually humming in the background, which is a relief when it’s hot outside. We don’t have much time for sitting around because there’s always a patient needing something or a file that needs to be moved from one desk to another. The cafeteria is where most of us end up at noon, and the food is pretty standard for a place like this. We try to keep the place tidy, but with so many people coming through every day, it’s a constant battle. The floors are that hard tile that makes your shoes click when you walk fast. It’s a busy environment, and sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming, but we just take it one shift at a time. Thellakom is a quiet enough place otherwise, so the hospital really stands out as the main hub of activity for everyone living nearby. It is just a practical place for people who need help.
