Sri Meghana Bakery

We are right here in Main Bazar, Ramavaram. The shop isn't huge but it stays busy most days. In Kothagudem, the sun gets really hot, so the fan inside stays on high all afternoon. We start early in the morning before most people are even awake. The smell of the bread baking is how we know the day has started. Sometimes the flour gets everywhere, on our shirts and the floor. We have those old glass counters that we have to wipe down ten times a day because of the fingerprints. People come in for a quick snack or maybe some biscuits to take home for tea. It’s a lot of standing around and waiting for the next batch to come out of the oven. The oven is old but it works fine for what we need. We see the same faces every day, mostly folks living nearby or people heading to work. We don't have fancy decorations, just the shelves and the products we make. It gets a bit loud when the market is full of people outside. Sometimes we run out of things faster than we thought we would. Then we just have to start again the next morning. It is a simple life here at 17-1-85. We just keep the door open and keep the shelves filled up as best as we can without making too much of a fuss about it. We just do the work.
