Our office is over at 1024/B in the Railway Officer Colony, right near the Kota Junction. It is a bit of an old area, which is nice because there are some big trees around that provide a bit of shade. We do engineering work here, which involves a lot of technical drawings and checking over project details. Since we are in Kota, it gets really hot in the summer, so the fans are always running in the office to keep us cool. We spend most of the day at our desks looking at computer screens or stacks of papers. Being near the railway colony means we hear the trains quite often, which just becomes background noise after a while. Most of us have been working in this field for a long time, so we just get on with the tasks without much fuss. It is a quiet place to work mostly, unless we are having a meeting about a deadline or a tricky part of a project. We don't have any big posters or slogans on the walls. It is just a regular engineering office where we try to get the numbers right. Sometimes we have to go out on site, but a lot of the heavy lifting happens right here at the desks in Kota. People who work here live nearby, so it has a local kind of feel to it. We just focus on the engineering side of things and try to keep everything moving.
