Suneja General Store

We are located at number 42 in Vijay Market on Arya Samaj Road. Suneja General Store is a typical place where you can find soap, pulses, biscuits, and all the small stuff you run out of at home. The shop is small, and every inch of the walls is covered with products. We have been here for quite a while now. The routine is the same every day: open the shutters, clean the dust off the counter, and wait for the morning regulars. Vijay Market is a lively place, so there is always something to look at outside. We talk to the other shopkeepers while we wait for customers. It’s not a supermarket where you pick things yourself; you tell us what you need and we get it for you from the shelves. Sometimes we have to climb a wooden ladder to reach the top items. We use a simple calculator for the bills. The kids from the neighborhood come by for candies after school. It gets a bit hot in the afternoons, so we keep a small fan running behind the counter. We don't have any fancy displays. It’s just about having what people need when they need it. We’ve seen many generations grow up in this area. It’s a decent way to spend the day, even if it gets a bit repetitive. We just like being part of the street life here.
