Laxmi General Store

Laxmi General Store is right in the middle of Nayapura. It is one of those shops where you can find almost anything for the house if you look hard enough. We have bags of flour and pulses stacked up near the entrance and soaps on the shelves further back. The place is quite narrow so we have to be careful when moving around so we don't knock anything over. Every morning starts with the milk delivery which is always a rush because people want it fresh. We deal with a lot of change and coins all day long which can be a bit of a headache. The Nayapura area is very old and the streets are narrow so it feels like everyone knows everyone else. Sometimes people just come in to chat for a bit while they buy their daily sugar or tea. We don't have any fancy displays or lights here. It is just wooden shelves and some old fans that have been here for years. The floor is made of old stone and gets quite cold in the winter. We try to keep everything organized but it is hard when new stock arrives and we have nowhere to put it. It is a family thing and we have been doing this for a long time now. Most days are just spent weighing out items and packing them into small plastic bags for the neighbors who live nearby.
