Shine General Store

Down here on Jhalawar Road in Suket, we’ve got Shine General Store. It’s right in the Ramganj Mandi area. It isn't a huge place, but we try to keep the shelves full of the things people actually need every day. You know, stuff like soap, biscuits, and those little things you forget when you’re out doing the big grocery shopping. Suket is a quiet enough place most of the time, though the road gets its fair share of trucks and people moving between towns. I’ve been running this for a bit now, and I’ve seen kids grow up coming in here for sweets after school. It’s funny how time goes by like that. The shop opens up early in the morning because that’s when people are out and about before it gets too hot. We don't have fancy displays or anything like that. Everything is just stacked where it fits. Sometimes I’m rearranging the jars or checking what’s running low on the back shelves. It’s just a basic general store. If you need something for the house or a quick snack, you stop in. We keep it simple. It gets a bit dusty being near the road, so I spend a lot of time cleaning the glass jars. It’s a lot of work running a shop by yourself, but it’s what I do. People know where to find us. We don't bother with much else besides keeping the stock fresh and being here when the door opens.
