S S Dairy is a small place located at Dadabari 621 A-I. We deal with milk, curd, and some other dairy products every single day. The work starts very early in the morning, usually before the sun is even up, because that’s when the milk cans arrive. The floor is almost always a bit wet from being washed down after the morning rush. It smells like fresh milk and cream in here, which I’ve grown to like over the years. We don't have any big signs or fancy decorations. It's just a functional space with some big refrigerators and a counter. People from the Dadabari neighborhood come in with their own steel containers to get their daily supply. Sometimes we run out of curd by noon if it’s a particularly hot day. I spend a lot of time cleaning the equipment because that’s the most important part of this job. My hands are usually cold from handling the chilled packets. We keep a small notebook to write down who owes what, though most people just pay cash on the spot. The shop at 621 A-I is quite plain, with white tiles on the walls that have a few cracks here and there. It’s just a simple dairy shop serving the local families. We aren't trying to be a big brand; we just want to make sure the milk is fresh and the customers get what they need.
