About Rishabh General Store – Food & Beverages in Kota
If you walk down Barrage Road into Bahadur Bazar, you will find us tucked between a few other old shops. We carry a bit of everything, from notebooks and pens to soap and packets of snacks. The shelves go all the way up to the ceiling, so I often have to use a wooden ladder to reach the stuff on top. It’s a bit cramped in here, but we know where every single item is kept. The floor is old stone and it stays relatively cool even when it’s hot outside in the bazar. We don’t have a computer for billing; we just use a ledger and a pen like we always have. It works fine for us. Sometimes the kids from the nearby school come in for a single piece of candy or a pencil. We also get the older folks who want a specific brand of tea they have been drinking for twenty years. We don't really change much around here. The layout has stayed the same for a long time. People seem to like that they know exactly where to find the washing powder or the light bulbs. We spend the quiet hours of the afternoon restocking the shelves and sweeping the front step. There is always a bit of chatter with the other shopkeepers on Barrage Road. It is a tight-knit place and we just do our part to keep the neighborhood supplied with the basics.
