Ready Cut Genral Store

If you walk down Gumanpura Road, you will eventually run into Ready Cut Genral Store. It has been sitting on this corner for a while now. I open up early every morning because people in this neighborhood need their milk and bread before they head off to work. The shop is a bit small, so things are stacked pretty high on the shelves. Sometimes I have to climb a little ladder just to reach the stuff on the top row. It gets crowded in the evenings when the school kids come in for snacks and the ladies are looking for things for dinner. We try to keep everything people need, from soap to biscuits. The floor is a bit worn down from all the feet walking through over the years. Gumanpura Road is always moving, and sometimes I just stand in the doorway and watch the rickshaws go by when it is quiet. It is not a shiny place with bright lights, just a normal store where we know most of our customers by their names. My hands are usually busy stocking things or counting change. We don't really have a big fancy sign, but everyone knows where we are. It is just honest work, keeping the shelves full and making sure the fridge stays cold for the sodas. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to sit in the dark for a bit, but that is just life here.
