Ramdev Dairy

Ramdev Dairy is located in the Sarai Kayasthan area, right near Kherli Phartak. It’s a busy little corner of the world, especially in the mornings when the whole neighborhood seems to wake up at once. We get the fresh milk in twice a day, and that’s when the shop gets really crowded. We have these big stainless steel cooling tanks that hum all day long to keep everything fresh. Besides the milk, we make our own curd in earthen pots because it tastes better that way, and we usually have some fresh paneer wrapped in muslin cloth on the counter. The shop is simple with white tiled walls that we scrub down every single afternoon. My son helps me out with the deliveries, taking the milk bags to the houses nearby on his old scooter. Sometimes the milk is a little late because of the traffic or the weather, and we have to deal with a few annoyed customers, but mostly everyone is like family here. We’ve known these families for years. We don't have a big sign or any bright lights. Most people just know us by the sound of the milk cans clanking or the crowd of people standing out front at 7 AM. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting heavy crates and staying on our feet, but we like being part of the daily routine for the people in Sarai Kayasthan.
