Prateek General Store

The store here in Kota Kheda Raasulpur has been around for a good bit now. Mostly it’s just me and my brother handling things when people come in for their flour or sugar. The morning starts early because folks around here need their supplies before the sun gets too hot. We keep a variety of stuff on the shelves, from soap to snacks, whatever we can fit in the space we have. Sometimes the delivery truck is late and we just sit outside on the bench waiting. It’s quiet mostly, except when the school kids walk past and want some candy. We don’t do anything fancy here. Just a basic shop where you can find the usual things for the kitchen or house. People know where we are because we’ve sat in this same spot for years. The dust from the road gets inside sometimes so we spend a lot of time wiping down the jars. It’s a lot of work but it keeps us busy through the day. We don't really have a big team or anything, just us making sure the stock is ready for whoever walks through the door next. If someone needs something specific we try to find it for them next time we go into the city. It's just a regular life here in Raasulpur. We close up when it gets dark and start again the next day.
