Moti General Store

I've been running Moti General Store here in Sector 4 of Keshavpura for a while now. It’s just a regular shop where people from around the block come to pick up things they forgot during their big weekly grocery trip. Kota gets really hot in the summer, so I spend a lot of my day making sure the fridge stays running for cold drinks. We keep the basic stuff—soap, biscuits, oil, and whatever the neighbors usually ask for. Sometimes the supply truck comes late and I have to explain to Mrs. Sharma why we’re out of her favorite brand of tea. It’s not a fancy place at all. The shelves are a bit old and I move things around when I get bored. My family helps out sometimes when I need to go run an errand or have lunch. I know most of the kids who come in for candy after school. It’s mostly about knowing who likes what. The shop opens early because people need milk for their morning chai. By evening, it gets a bit crowded with people coming home from work. I try to keep enough stock of pulses and sugar so no one goes back empty-handed. There’s always dust from the road that I have to wipe off the jars every few hours. It’s just a small business, nothing special, but it keeps us busy. We are right here in the middle of the residential area, so it's convenient for everyone and easy to find.
