Mannalal Chainsukh Ghee

Rampura Bazar is where you will find us, right among all the other old shops that have been here for decades. Our place, Mannalal Chainsukh Ghee, smells like home as soon as you walk in. We deal with ghee, so the shop always has that distinct, rich scent that sticks to your clothes and the walls. Most of our time is spent moving tins around and making sure everything is stored properly. It’s a traditional setup with wooden counters and old-fashioned scales that we still use. We don’t use much technology here because the old ways of doing things still work fine for us. People come from different parts of the city just to buy their ghee from us because they know what they are getting. The floor is made of old stone and it stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the bazaar outside. We usually have a few large containers open so people can see the texture of the ghee. My family has put a lot of years into this spot. We see the same faces every month, people who have been buying from us since they were children. It’s a busy atmosphere with people shouting and bells ringing from the nearby temple. We just keep our heads down and keep the tins filled for whoever comes in next. It is not a complicated business, but it requires a lot of heavy lifting and patience. We like being part of the history of this market.
