Krishna General Store

Krishna General Store is located in Patanpole, Kota. We are right in the thick of the market where everyone comes to shop. It’s a lively spot, and there’s always something happening outside our door. We sell the usual stuff—mostly things people need for their kitchens and bathrooms. We’ve got bags of rice, different kinds of lentils, and all the small snacks the kids like. The shop is simple and we don’t spend much on decorations. It feels better to just have the items people are looking for. On some days, the crowd is so thick in the lane that it takes a while for our suppliers to reach us. We just wait and manage with what we have on the shelves. Most of our work involves weighing out items and packing them for customers. It’s manual work and can be tiring by the end of the day. But we’ve been doing it for so long it feels natural. We open up early and stay till the market closes down at night. We’ve seen the kids in the neighborhood grow up and start coming here with their own children. It makes the shop feel like more than just a place of business. We just try to be helpful and keep the things people need in stock. The wooden counter has been here since my father started the place back in the day.
