Kota Thermal Power Station, Kota

Kota Thermal Power Station is a big name, but our office over at Hadoti Vidya Vihar School is where a lot of the local coordination happens. Kota is known for two things: coaching classes and heat. It gets really hot here, and you can feel it even inside the school building. Being near a school means there is always noise—bells ringing, kids playing during break, and parents waiting outside. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a power station office, but it works for us. We handle the administrative side of things and look after the local interests. The school area is quite familiar to everyone in this part of Rajasthan. We don't have any flashy signs or glass walls. It’s a basic room with some fans and old wooden cupboards filled with ledgers. You can see the big chimneys of the power station from certain spots nearby, reminding us of the main work going on. The staff here is mostly local people who have lived in Kota their whole lives. We don't do much marketing because everyone knows where the power station is and what it does. We just keep things running behind the scenes. It’s dusty, it’s loud, and it’s busy, but that’s just how life is in this part of town. We just focus on the daily chores and making sure the paperwork is in order. It’s honest work.
