Kharoliwal Hospital

The hospital is located at 3 148 in the Nayapura area. It is a building that has been part of the community for quite a while now. When you walk into Kharoliwal Hospital, you won't find marble floors or expensive art on the walls. It is a plain, functional place with white walls and the smell of antiseptic everywhere. There are rows of plastic chairs in the waiting area that are usually full of people from the nearby streets. The fans on the ceiling hum constantly to keep the air moving during the hot afternoons. We have different rooms for checkups and a small pharmacy area where the medicine bottles are lined up on the shelves. It is often quite loud because of the children crying or the families talking in the hallways, but that is just part of a local hospital’s life. The doctors and staff are usually moving fast from one room to another. Outside, the street in Nayapura is always busy with rickshaws and vendors, so there is a lot of noise coming through the front doors. We try to keep things as organized as we can with our clipboards and paper charts. It is a place where people come when they aren't feeling well, and we just do what we can to help them out in a simple, direct way without any extra bells or whistles. We are just here for the neighborhood.
