Happiness Ice Cream Parlor

We set up Happiness Ice Cream Parlor here at Talwandi 2-A-7 because it felt like a quiet enough spot for people to stop by. It is just a simple room with some freezers and a couple of places to sit down if it isn't too crowded. The street outside can get a bit dark at night, but our lights stay on until late. We see a lot of students and families who live nearby coming in after they finish their work or studies. The freezers hum all day and night to keep everything from melting, which is a constant worry during the really hot months. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to scramble, but that’s just how things are here. We don’t have a big team, just a couple of us who take turns standing behind the counter. It isn't a high-end place with polished floors or anything. We just keep the floor swept and the glass clean so people can see what we have. It is nice seeing the local kids get excited when they walk in. We don't do any big advertising or anything like that. People just know we are here in Talwandi. We spend most of our time restocking the tubs and making sure the spoons are clean. It is a simple way to spend the day, really. Nothing too complicated, just keeping things cold and waiting for the next person to walk through the door.
