Down at B-97 Ipia Road No 3, you’ll find us at Gurunam Engineering Work. This part of the industrial area is always humming with activity. There are trucks moving in and out, and the sound of machinery is everywhere. Our shop is pretty much like the others around here—practical and a bit worn down. We focus on engineering tasks that require a bit of muscle and a lot of patience. Whether it is turning parts on the lathe or welding pieces together, we just stay focused on the task at hand. The heat in the summer can be pretty brutal under the tin roof, so we keep the fans running full blast all day. It doesn't always help, but we keep working anyway. We’ve got a core group of guys who have been here for years. We know each other's ways of working, which makes the long days go by a bit faster. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the area, just a reliable one. Sometimes a job takes longer than we thought because a tool breaks or the material isn't right, but we always finish it. We don't spend money on advertising or fancy signs. Our work speaks for itself when someone sees a piece we’ve finished. It is just a straightforward place for straightforward work. We show up, we do the job, and we go home. That is about it for us.
