Agarwal General Store

We’ve been here on Station Road for a while now. Most mornings start with unlocking the front gate and sweeping the dust off the step before the first train crowd arrives. It gets busy fast. Agarwal General Store isn't anything fancy, just a regular place where you find what you need for the house. We spend most of our time checking the shelves to see what ran out yesterday. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late because of the traffic near the station, which is a bit of a headache, but we manage. People come in for small things, maybe a pack of biscuits or some soap, and stay to chat about the weather or the news. It’s mostly just us here, making sure things stay organized. The shelves are packed tight because the space isn't huge, so you have to know exactly where everything is kept. Sometimes a lightbulb goes out or a shelf needs fixing, so there is always some small job to do when customers aren't around. We don't have a big team or anything, just a couple of us who know the regulars by name. It’s loud outside with the horns and the station noise, but inside it’s just the usual business of counting change and bagging items. We try to keep things simple and just get through the daily list. That’s how it goes every day at Station Road, just keeping the doors open and the stock ready for whoever walks in next.
