College Ki Canteen

We run the food spot inside the Government EVPG College here in Korba. It’s not a fancy restaurant or anything. We mostly serve tea, samosas, and basic lunch plates to the students and the staff. It’s always crowded during the 11 o’clock break. Everyone is shouting their orders at once, and it gets pretty hot in the kitchen area. We’ve been serving this college for a long time now. The furniture is just simple plastic chairs and tables that have seen a lot of use. We try to keep the prices low because we know students don't have much money. Sometimes we run out of things like milk or sugar and have to send someone to the market quickly. It's a busy life. We start early in the morning to get the stove going and fry the first batch of snacks. On rainy days, the canteen is the only place where everyone huddles together to stay dry. It’s a bit messy with bags and books everywhere. We know which professors like their tea with extra ginger and which students are always late for class. It’s just something we do so people don't go hungry while they're studying. We don’t have a big menu, just the things people like to eat every day. Usually, the poha sells out first in the mornings when the first classes start. We stay open until the last lectures are over in the late afternoon.
